God's Artists

          Stan Inouye

          Stan Sakai

             Pete Morris
For some reason, Iwa and art have always gone together. Perhaps one explanation could be that Iwa’s President and Founder, Stan Inouye, is an artist. But that can’t be the whole of it. Perhaps it has something to do with the people Iwa is focused on reaching—people of Japanese and Asian ancestry.

Japanese people in particular are known to place a high value on aesthetic presentation. For example, to the Japanese, the way that food looks and is presented is as important as, if not more important than, how it tastes.

So to Iwa, it makes sense to present ideas—such as the truth in God’s Word, especially the gospel message--to a person of Japanese ancestry in a way that appeals not only to the person’s rational faculties but also to the person’s emotional sensibilities. And for Iwa, art is the most effective way to do that.

The artwork shown here is representative of the artwork that Iwa has become known for over the years, from Run for the Rock t-shirt designs by Stan Sakai, to the pen-and-ink drawings of Stan Inouye.
